...And here is our brief introduction to this type of dreaming, as usual, for your curiosity:

Social Dreaming, or Dream Matrix – as it has also been called – was ‘discovered’ by W.Gordon Lawrence between the 70′s and the 80′s, but it’s in fact an archaic practice, where individual dreams are considered, used and shared as a resource for the entire community as well as for the dreamer. Recent social dream work is based on the fundamental idea - portrayed within different schools of thinking, each stressing particular aspects – that individual dreams also contain ‘information’ about the social group surrounding the individual and about what is trying to emerge and be ‘digested’ by both, useful information that can be found beyond what we think, speak and know consciously.

The Dreamer’s world and the Others’ world exist together.

Our group will involve the participation of  horses to facilitate this experience.

Just bring a dream, current or past, that you are happy to share with others.

Note: No previous knowledge is required and we pay attention to creating a safe environment, but you will need to have some familiarity with working on your awareness of yourself as this experience can be stirring.

Email or ring us if you want to participate.  It would be kind to let us know  by the Friday preceding each meeting, as it takes some preparation for us and the horses to reach and set up the space on the day. However if you decide last minute, give us a call then – to make sure it’s all set!

This is a beautiful poem Barbara wrote after our Dreaming With The Horses last Sunday. 

She sent it in today, to share and 'send out there' as the gift and inspiration from the Dreaming and as the intentions that guide this new stage of her life.

The Letting Go

The time has come for letting go and taking the big stride across the divide and into the world

I am torn between the wish to see you enfettered from my maternal bonds and yet, I feel fear

You asked once had your life been planned by me to come into existence and in truth it was not

You made that plan for me and it was one I gladly accepted and embraced, you made me mother

Yesterday as I watched you with the eyes of detached observer, I saw the you that others see

I realised that for almost twenty years the you I have known has been uncensored and intimate

The you without constraint and sometimes without control, where you end and I began vaguely drawn

This moving on, this separation will surely change all of this and I must grieve the loss brought by my desire

For in my heart I know the time has come and I want to feel this pain.  I instigated it, I can do no more.

You have all you need my child and you are ready, so go with love and live your story.

Our Dream Matrix with Slipper and Paz continues and we have just had another surprising, rich, insight provoking, stimulating, creative experience up the hills of Cragg Vale where our horses are now happily homed. We haven't updated our blog lately as there have been a number of transitions in the journey of Unbridled Potential, and for both ours and Slipper and Paz's lives but we are still here and in full flow and looking forward to more dreaming, group and individual work and wherever our path takes us.

Thank you Julia and thank you all who keep contributing to and nurturing our Dreaming With The Horses with your generous and inspiring dreams and courageously offering such an intimate part of your Soul to facilitate our individual and collective growth.

Thank you Slipper and Paz!

Our first Dreaming with the Horses experiment was a surprising, enriching experience and we are back for more!

Bring your dream to our next meeting on

At stables just 5 minutes from the centre of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

Ring or email us for directions and information, 

and wear warm clothes, boots and waterproofs,

we're up the hills with the horses and beautiful views!

Well,

it took us some time to get to grips with how to use this blog but here we are, after our Launch Event, ready to reflect on the whole experience. We had a fantastic time, we were very pleased with the turn out, with everybody's response and contribution to the event. Everyone brought their unique input to the flow of the day, the taster sessions were very rich and we admired the bravery of those who took the risk to expose some of themselves not knowing where this would take them. It was so interesting to see how different people's experiences were, how the information during the sessions, as Slipper responded, were relevant to whatever level of depth and involvement each person chose.

It was our intention throughout to offer each person the freedom to choose how much to reveal and how far to go with it and for their choices to be respected. We hope this is how it felt to both the participants and the audience. We came away from the event feeling more confident that Unbridled Potential can be a wonderful resource for growth and change where people can truly feel empowered to find a way forward for themselves.

 We feel very passionate about this, about how horses just show us in their bodies, fully and without masks, who we are, what we carry, the unspoken history and the un-discovered possibilites within ourselves. They do not do this because they are magicians of some sort, they do in the purest, uncontaminated, un-masked way, what we all do between humans too: they sometimes 'become' the parts of ourselves and our 'baggage' that we do not like or own up to, so we can see them and work with them. They also 'become' the possibilities, the alternative angles, we are not aware of or are blind to, so we can engage with them and try out new ways, break through. 

We hope these pages become a place to reflect on, learn, exchange ideas and we welcome your comments and contributions whether or not you were present at the Open Day, so do get in touch and let us know what you think!

For those of you who participated to the taster sessions, please give us your feedback! We are also organising an evening for you to watch the videos of your sessions with us so that we all have an opportunity to reflect on what we have all learnt. We will contact you with a date as soon as we are ready.
